Privacy

Your privacy, in plain words.

What SilentWorks keeps about you, why, and how to change or remove it. Last updated 4 October 2026.

The short version

  • We keep only what we need to run your account, answer your messages and teach your courses.
  • We don't sell your information, and we don't show you adverts.
  • Browsing the site sets no tracking cookies.
  • You can see, correct or delete your account yourself, or ask us at hello@silentworks.net.

When you just visit

We count visits on our own server so we know which pages help people. We don't store your IP address, and we don't set a cookie for this. Each visitor becomes a short code that changes every month, so we can count visits without following anyone from one month to the next. Search engines and other bots aren't counted.

If you switch between light and dark, your choice is saved in your own browser so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device.

When you create an account

We keep your name, your email address and your password (stored scrambled, so no one can read it — not even us). You can add a mobile number, your interests and a profile photo if you want to. If you log in with Google, Google tells us your name and email address; we don't get your Google password.

While you're logged in, the site uses one cookie to remember you. It's needed for logging in to work, and it ends when you close your browser.

When you learn with us

For courses like Calculate Smarter we keep your progress: which lessons you've finished, your practice answers, your mistakes list and your speed-test results. We use these only to show you your progress and to give you the right next step.

When you contact us

When you send an enquiry, request a course or message us, we keep what you send — your name, email, mobile number if you give it, and your message — so we can reply and keep the conversation in one place.

When you message us on Instagram or Facebook

Your messages stay in Instagram or Facebook; we read and answer them there. When you message us, we may send one automatic reply so you know your message arrived. To do that, Meta (which runs Instagram and Facebook) tells our website your account's ID, and for Instagram your username. We keep only that and the time we last heard from you, for 90 days, so you don't get the same automatic reply twice. To have it deleted sooner, email hello@silentworks.net.

Emails

We email you about your account (confirming your email, resetting your password), replies to your messages, and updates to your requests. If you joined our launch list, we keep your email address to tell you about SilentWorks; every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and one click takes you off the list. We don't send marketing emails to anyone who hasn't asked for them.

Who else sees it

Only the SilentWorks team. Our website and its database run with our hosting provider, and emails go out through our email service; they hold the data for us and don't use it for anything else. If you log in with Google, Google handles that step. We'll only share anything beyond this if the law requires it.

Changing or deleting your information

You can change your details any time in your account. To delete your account and the information that goes with it, go to Your account → Settings → Delete my account. If you'd rather we did it, or you want a copy of what we keep, email hello@silentworks.net.

Children

Our courses can be used with children — Calculate Smarter is written for parents to teach their children — but accounts are for adults. A parent or guardian should create the account and use the course with their child.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
